Lead Paint Violations Significantly Higher in Low Income Areas

In a recent blog post we highlighted US Attorney Preet Bharara's probe into the possibility that the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) lied about its use of lead paint.

According to a new Huffington Post/WNYC article, which analyzed the number of lead paint violations in homes with young children, "more than 75 percent of all violations for lead paint conditions in units with children under the age of 6 are found in areas where the poverty rate exceeds the city's average of 21 percent."
